"When we returned to Maine we knew we wanted to build our final home exactly the way we wanted. We had built four previous homes and each one had positive and negative components; we wanted to incorporate all the positive features while downsizing.
We met with builders in the area and selected Main Eco Homes because they were able to support us throughout the project with a dedicated project manager, a detailed project plan, staff to help us through the building design along with options and estimated costs, interior design selection, and access to companies for things outside the home project. They even helped us find an apartment and storage while the home was under construction. Their staff and the consultants they employ are excellent.
When we moved into our new home there were very few “punch list” items, and they were all minor. They were fixed in a couple days. We have never built a home with so few issues.
Since then, there have been no new issues and we love our home; it is exactly as we envisioned and the quality is outstanding. We recommend anyone considering building a new home in the area to strongly consider Main Eco Homes."

We could not possibly be happier with the finished product, and we were continually amazed along the way by the great work of MEH’s leadership, employees, subcontractors and suppliers. Here are some of the many examples: MEH made initiating our project an entirely painless and efficient process, with minimal demands on our time and attention thanks to MEH’s thoughtful intake process. During the design phase for the building itself, and throughout its construction, MEH made many suggestions that significantly improved on our ideas and that resolved seemingly intractable problems we encountered in our thinking. Initially and throughout the term of the project, our work with MEH’s in-house designer (and the appropriate subs) to select finishes, fixtures, products and the like was truly a pleasure. During the permitting phase, MEH used its extensive knowledge of the applicable rules and regulations, and of the particular permitting processes of our town, to satisfy completely the town authorities while achieving 100% of our design objectives. (Achieving this goal often required significant on-one’s-feet thinking and creativity by MEH, and steady patience.) We have often heard stories about Yankee craftspersonship (and seen examples on “This Old House”!), but we were unable to anticipate the very, very fine, and extremely high, level of work that is expressed throughout our new home. The building achieves the desired MEH high-tech “eco” status, while showcasing in virtually every room gorgeous (and often unexpected) architectural touches. It is clear that “good enough” never was for the workers who contributed their skills to our project. Finally, the “close-up specialists” MEH sent to our home to ensure that every conceivable item deserving to be on a punch list was completely resolved were indeed in a class by themselves. We are now sitting back, with our relatives and friends, and enjoying everything about our wonderful new Main Eco Home, and we are so grateful that we happened upon your offices during a drive through Bridgton."
